This is an example of a complete incorrect interpretation of the scientific facts. So, at FITtec.® we have designed programs for our clients that in some cases, have multiple sessions per week combining 20 minutes strength workouts and 30 minute cardio, endurance, HIT, HIIT and circuit workouts. Some clients come in once a week and some up to three times per week.
It is a responsibility of our FITtec.® EMS certified coaches to have sufficient education and experience to be able to decide on and to modulate the intensity, frequency and duration of the electrical muscle stimulation session, in very case. If there are any health concerns, it will be necessary to get the approval of a Physician. (Who also has good knowledge and experience on the topic).

3- IT BURNS 3.000 KCAL IN 20 MINUTES:
This is literally IMPOSSIBLE.
Research done at the University of Granada determined that after training with electrical muscle stimulation all study participants increased their basal metabolism. In other words, the participants who were training with EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) were “burning” more calories throughout the day.
This increase became (in the best cases) of 1.000 Kcal per day, for 3 days. Therefore, after only one electrical muscle stimulation training, it can help us to burn 3.000 Kcal over 3 days. In this research, the trainings lasted 20 minutes.
This increase in the metabolic rate (calorie burning) can be used for various body transformation goals, the most popular being, weight loss, toning and losing inches. And then, a by -product of training EMS is full-body strength, so even though your goal may be too slim down, you will always get strong at the same time, making everything you do much easier. This effect can be interesting also for certain sports men and woman, professional, amateur or weekend warrior.
Therefore, we accept that this verbiage can lead to the confusion of the user and potential clients. We cannot burn 3.000 Kcal during one session of EMS, your body is unable to produce that energy output. We can also accept that training with EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) will increase your weekly energy consumption in a very efficient way. It is not a magic pill, you would still need to invest many hours to reach your goals, just not as many as needed when you are using conventional workout methods.
